The ingredients and raw materials we source for the typical Dr. Oetker taste meet defined criteria. For us at Dr. Oetker, sourcing with care means taking the risk of deforestation into account.
We have already introduced Rainforest Alliance certification for products containing cocoa and hazelnut, as well as RSPO certification for palm oil products. We are now preparing to apply the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which we will apply from the end of 2026.
In 2025, 93 % of our purchase value came from sources we have classified as low deforestation risk based on internationally recognized methods and standards (in particular AFi). This means that most of our materials are sourced in a way that does not contribute to deforestation.
We are currently assessing ingredients with a particularly high deforestation risk: soy, palm oil, cocoa, sugar cane from Brazil and paper-based packaging. Animal products are also on the list, since land is needed both for grazing and for growing animal feed.
